Neurofriendly Training

Practical neurodiversity training for staff-facing roles

NeuroFriendly delivers clear, practical training to help staff better understand and support neurodivergent people in everyday workplace and customer-facing situations.

Training is designed to build confidence, reduce misunderstandings, and support more effective interactions — without jargon, judgement, or unrealistic expectations.

What the training covers

Sessions are tailored to staff-facing environments and typically include:

  • An overview of neurodiversity and common neurodivergent conditions
  • Autism, ADHD, PDA, sensory processing differences and dyslexia
  • How environments, communication and expectations can create barriers
  • Common misconceptions and unhelpful responses
  • Practical adjustments that make an immediate difference
  • What helps in real situations — and what to avoid

The focus is always on real-world understanding and usable strategies, not theory or clinical detail.

How the training is delivered

  • Duration: 60–90 minutes
  • Format: Online or in person
  • Style: Interactive, discussion-led, practical
  • Group size: Suitable for small teams or larger staff groups

Sessions can be adapted to suit different settings, roles and levels of experience.

Who the training is for

This training is suitable for organisations where staff regularly interact with the public or work in mixed-needs teams, including:

  • Customer service and front-of-house staff
  • Managers and supervisors
  • Volunteers
  • Community organisations and charities
  • Councils and public services
  • Visitor attractions, leisure and cultural venues
  • Small businesses and local services

No prior knowledge of neurodiversity is required.

What staff gain from the training

After a session, staff typically report:

  • Increased confidence when supporting neurodivergent people
  • Better understanding of different communication and sensory needs
  • Reduced anxiety around “getting it wrong”
  • Clear, practical ideas they can use immediately
  • A calmer, more informed approach to everyday interactions

What this training is not

To keep the training effective and clearly defined, NeuroFriendly does not provide:

  • Clinical or diagnostic services
  • Formal accreditation or certification
  • Compliance audits or policy writing
  • Ongoing consultancy or support contracts

All sessions are stand-alone, advisory training.
